You can register for either course by selecting the “Register Now” button [above]. Due to the nature of the course, all delegates will need to undergo a security check.

The security check process requires you to provide us with some personal information and we therefore ask each individual within a group to complete the registration process. Once completed the group representative should contact [Info@SCRcourse.co.uk] with the group details and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Payment of the course fee can be made by credit or debit card. Payment in full is required to secure a place on the course. If you need to discuss different payment options email info@SCRcourse.co.uk.
Following a successful security check (approx. 6 weeks), you will receive an email to confirm that your registration has been successful. The email will include a link to the available course dates for you to select. The link provided in the email is unique to you and cannot be transferred to another individual.

The Operators course is intended for Security Control Room Operators including Supervisors and applies to all organisations and venues. All delegates need to be over the age of 21. This course is not intended for Managers or Directors with financial or operational responsibility for Security Control Rooms.
The Managers course is intended for Security Control Room Managers and individuals with overall responsibility for Security Control Rooms and incident management.
This course is a world first and, uniquely, based on NPSA’s research. Feedback from attendees has been used to improve the delivery of the course over time and ensure world-class training.
The Operators course runs for five days, with the first two and a half days based on classroom style teaching including presentations, open discussion, breakout groups and exercises.
The last two and a half days is a combination of classroom and immersive exercises.

The Managers course runs for one day from 8.30 – 17.00
Yes. The course has been designed to build the skill, capability and experience of delegates over the five days, and it is mandatory to attend all five days to receive a certificate of completion. It is not possible for different people from an organisation to attend different days of the course.
The course has been developed by NPSA, with trainers with diverse experience in emergency services, security, research and teaching.
The number of candidates attending the Operators course is between 18 – 27. You will be allocated into a group of three for the immersive exercises.
For the Managers course there are up to 50 delegates per course.
Yes. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there are numerous short breaks throughout the day.
Courses take place in Bedfordshire. We will share the general venue area following successful registration and security check. Joining instructions with the specific location of the venue and travel instructions will be sent out approximately 6 weeks in advance.
The course is non-residential and accommodation is not provided. If accommodation is required, this is to be arranged by the delegate or their organisation. Details of local hotels will be sent with the joining instructions.

No, all equipment and learning content will be provided to you during the course.
Free parking is available at the Bedfordshire site. Full details are included in the joining instructions issued ahead of the course.
Lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of the course and will be provided every day.
Vegetarian options will be provided. If you have any allergies or food intolerances, please provide the details on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The courses cover sensitive subject matter that may be upsetting for some delegates. We will give advance warning of the more distressing content. You will also take part in immersive exercises where you will respond to terrorist incidents and these are designed to be very realistic and are stressful.

Once on the course, delegates are free to leave the room at any point if they feel uncomfortable and are encouraged to raise any concerns with a member of the training team.
For the Operators course, you will be provided access to the online training material hosted on the Moodle e-learning platform approximately 3 weeks before the start of the course. This pre-learning will provide you with background knowledge ahead of the course, covering topics such as Threat Recognition, operations in the control room and Making Announcements. The online learning module takes approximately 3 hours and accounts for 20% of the overall scoring for certification. To receive the certificate of attendance and performance scorecard, the pre-learning must be completed.
There is no pre-course learning required before the Managers course.
Yes, delegates on the Operators course are assessed through a series of multiple-choice tests taken throughout the week, performance during immersive exercises, as well as the completion of the pre-course learning material. Delegates are expected to attend all 5 days of the course to receive a certificate of completion.
Results of the assessments are shared with your line manager to help inform your continued professional development.
Please note the Operators course is not an accredited course.
The Managers course is not assessed.
The trainers are on hand to help delegates who may be struggling and if required, may give the delegate the opportunity to re-do the assessments during the course.
Following the successful completion of the Operators course, each delegate will receive a personalised certificate. Please note the Operators course is not an accredited course.

Immersive exercises may be filmed to provide delegates the opportunity to watch themselves back and self-assess. The films will not be shared and will be deleted before delegates leave the venue.
From time to time we may use photographs of the course for marketing purposes. In this case delegates will be advised in advance and their consent sought.
